Additional Food & Meal Programs

Advantage Academy participates in the North Texas Food Bank “Food 4 Kids” program. This is the schools 8th year involved with this wonderful program. The program offers backpacks filled with healthy snacks to students who meet certain criteria in grades Prek-6th. Applications are in the nurses’ office.
• Each Friday, the student receives a backpack for the weekend
• Backpacks are also given to sibling even if that child does not attend Advantage Academy

Advantage Academy participates in the North Texas Food Bank “Produce Drop” program. Every student in grades Prek-5th receives either a 5 lbs. bag of fruits or vegetables each month which is delivered to the campuses by North Texas Food Bank. The goal of this program is to provide students and their families in grade levels Prek-5th with fruits or vegetables that they may not be able to afford or that they normally don’t eat.

The “After School Meal Program” is funded by the Texas Department of Agriculture and sponsored by CitySquare. After School Meal Programs are available to schools that offer structured, educational activities between the hours of 3-6 p.m. and must be eaten on campus. The Program serves schools that are located in geographical areas in which 50% or more of the students qualify for free and/or reduced school meals. Students 18 years and younger may receive a free meal.
