My name is Joy Pope and I am going to be your child's kindergarten teacher.  It is going to be a terrific year in kindergarten full of memories and growth.  I am thrilled to stand beside you and your scholar as we embark on this lovely year together.

I am a wife to a amazing man and I have one son and two daughters.  My family means the world to me and I am grateful to have them.  I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Public & Community Health; Master's in Guidance Counseling; and Master's in Marriage & Family Therapy from Prairie View A&M University.  Before coming to Advantage Academy, I taught Montessori PreK 3-4 years old for DeSoto ISD.  This is my fourth year teaching and my first year teaching kindergarten at Advantage Academy Grand Prairie West.  Advantage Academy is an amazing academy and I am so excited to be apart of this family and community.

I am looking forward to this year and working together with you to see your scholar succeed!  We will learn alot in kindergarten and it will be a joy to see how your scholars will grow over the year.
