Welcome Parents & Scholars!

My name is Breonna Shaffers and I am your English I and English III teacher at Advantage Academy. I am super excited to be here at Advantage teaching our future doctors, nurses, engineers, actors, lawyers, etc. This is my second year teaching at Advantage Academy, but my fifth year in education. Before becoming a teacher, I've worked with students for years across grade levels(Elementary, Secondary, High School), helping scholars overcome many obstacles in ELA. I genuinely have a passion for teaching. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my two-year-old, reading, writing poetry, and tutoring. I absolutely enjoy teaching my scholars the basic fundamentals in the English world, with the hopes of creating several more incredible English teachers and professors in the near future.  

I am from Baton Rouge, LA. I have a two-year-old son. Very loving! I graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2017, with a Bachelor's degree in English. I am currently attending Southern New Hampshire University, to receive my Master's in Psychology with an concentration in Child Development! 

I'm excited to be here at Advantage Academy, and look forward to getting to know all of my scholars and parents this school year!
