Counseling Services

  • Our comprehensive school counseling program includes four service delivery components implemented by our campus counselors
➢ Guidance Curriculum: Champion Auxillery Period (CAP) is a time during the first 20-25 minutes of school each day. Lessons are related to character, leadership, personal health & safety, intrapersonal and interpersonal effectiveness, post-secondary planning, and career readiness. Lessons are developed to be grade-level appropriate through collaboration of campus counselors and the district Curriculum & Instruction department.
➢ Responsive Services: Campus counselors provide crisis intervention, community referrals, and preventative counseling (individual or group).
➢ Individual Planning: Campus counselors guide students as they plan, monitor, and manage their individual educational, career, personal and social development via cohort meetings, classroom visits, email, google classroom, and individual planning sessions.
➢ System Support: Campus counselors coordinate programs to address student academic and social emotional wellbeing, including SEL, trauma-informed practices, and other state-mandated topics as needed. Additional support services and individual professional counseling session are available through DialCare, an online mental health service provided by the district.
